STATEMENT FROM THE JUDICIAL CONDUCT

INVESTIGATIONS OFFICE

Mr Martin Corden JP

A spokesperson for the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office said:

The Lord Chief Justice has, with the Lord Chancellor’s agreement, issued Martin Corden JP of the Staffordshire bench with a formal warning for failing to meet the minimum sittings requirement of his appointment. In reaching their decision, they took into consideration the number of Mr Corden’s sittings cancelled by the court administration and his previously unblemished record of service as a magistrate.
