JCIO 39/16
Date: 3 November 2016
A spokesperson for the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office Said:
Mr Bernard Hunter JP, a magistrate assigned to the North & East London Local Justice Area, has been removed from the magistracy following an investigation into his conduct. Mr Hunter chose to ignore guidance and gave an interview on national radio during which he said he disagreed with the Criminal Courts Charge. The Lord Chancellor and the Lord Chief Justice found that Mr Hunter’s actions showed a lack of judgement and amounted to serious misconduct
