STATEMENT FROM THE JUDICIAL CONDUCT

INVESTIGATIONS OFFICE

Mr John Jones JP

A spokesperson for the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office Said:

Mr John Jones, a retired magistrate placed on the supplemental list for the Bedfordshire Bench, was subject to an investigation into his conduct following an allegation that he accessed information in a case to which he was not entitled to and sought to influence court proceedings. The Lord Chancellor and the Lord Chief Justice considered that Mr Jones’ actions fell below the standard expected of a magistrate and have removed Mr Jones from the magistracy.
