A spokesperson for the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office said:
The Lord Chancellor and the Lord Chief Justice have issued Mr Justice Morris with formal advice after he received six penalty points and a fine for using his mobile phone whilst driving. In reaching their decision, they took into account that the judge reported the matter promptly, accepted responsibility for his actions, and apologised unreservedly.
