STATEMENT FROM THE JUDICIAL CONDUCT

INVESTIGATIONS OFFICE

Deputy District Judge Sarah Wootton

A spokesperson for the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office said:

The Lord Chief Justice and the Lord Chancellor have issued Deputy District Judge (DDJ) Sarah Wootton with formal advice following the investigation of a complaint about a seventeen-month delay by her in finalising a financial order. Whilst acknowledging that DDJ Wootton had offered some mitigation, they concluded that this did not fully explain the severity of the delay, and that the judge’s actions amounted to misconduct.
