JCIO 12/22
Date: 27 July 2022
A spokesperson for the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office said:
The Lord Chancellor and the Senior President of Tribunals, acting on behalf of the Lord Chief Justice, have issued Judge Ali Sarwar, a fee-paid judge of the First-Tier Immigration and Asylum Chamber, with a formal warning for failing to issue timely decisions in several cases. In reaching their decision, they took into consideration the number of cases affected by delay and Judge Sarwar’s failure to provide any explanation for the delays.
