STATEMENT FROM THE JUDICIAL CONDUCT

INVESTIGATIONS OFFICE

Jacqueline Mitchell JP

A spokesperson for the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office said:

Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb DBE, on behalf of the Lord Chief Justice and with the agreement of the Lord Chancellor, has issued Jacqueline Mitchell JP of the Cambridgeshire Bench with a formal warning after she made an ill judged remark on social media, which risked undermining her credibility and standing as a judicial office-holder. In making their decision, they took into consideration that Miss Mitchell had apologised for her actions and taken remedial steps.
