A spokesperson for the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office Said:

Recorder Robin Belben was subject to a conduct investigation in relation to his undischarged bankruptcy. The Lord Chancellor and Lord Chief Justice found that Recorder Belben’s status as an undischarged bankrupt was incompatible with his role as a judicial office holder and have removed him from office.
